Fontecruz Lisboa - the public areas
The Fontecruz Lisboa - an Autograph Collection hotel, located in the heart of Lisbon. Playful design and super friendly staff. We spent very brief 10 hours there as we got stuck in Lisbon thanks to the national strikes that hit Spain, Portugal and Italy in November 2012
The wall behind the reception desk has a great display of old keys, set up on a bare concrete wall. Very effective bringing the old and the new.
This is a small display in the corner of the lobby, the mannequins and old luggage and steamer trunks. The wall next to the display had old black and white movies projected on it. Very 'era' appropriate.
Random piece of art in the center of the lobby.
Another interpretation of the library concept. The light fixture here was fantastic. A tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the world-clocks.
The breakfast buffet served on the bar.

Fontecruz Lisboa
Extremely well designed hotel, both rooms and lobby decor.
The dark color of the walls made the rooms exceptionally dark. The lighting could have been augmented. The bed head-board is a quite creative, and potentially cheap to execute
Sink and shower nice to look at but no pracrical. High quality bathroom amenities including Marvis toothpaste in the dental kit.
The steamer trunk theme was present in the public areas of the hotel (see other post). The bathrobes and amenities were presented in a trunk/box in the guest bathroom.
The photo frame on the bed side table had dialing instructions for guests, nicely hand-written.
Poor minibar. Noisy and not contained in a closet in the room.
